Below are SOME of the pugs we have available
for adoption. MANY OF OUR PUGS ARE NEVER LISTED ON THIS PAGE because
their forever homes have been selected from applications already on
file. An application must be
submitted to be considered for any rescue pug. If you are ready to
adopt, please submit your application now. Applying does not obligate
you to adopt from us; you have the right to refuse any or all pugs about
which you are contacted.
If you do apply and would like to be considered for a pug listed on this
page, please indicate the name of the pug on your application.
With occasional exceptions, all of our rescued pugs are spayed/neutered,
vaccinated and heartworm tested before placement.

AJAX

My name is Ajax, and I am a
six-year-old pug/sharpei mix. My foster mom says I am a really good boy
and just a bundle of love. I am, however, a special needs dog. I had a
spinal stroke, which is known as FCE, which left me to walk a little
funny. This condition is not degenerative and should not cause any
further issue. I can still run and jump like normal dogs but sometimes
can not make it into the car, even though I try my hardest. I am on a
low residue food, as my spinal stroke dulled my sense of urgency to
poop. Once I feel it coming, I run as fast as I can to the dog door to
get outside. I usually make it, but every once in a while I can't get
out in time. If I am on a schedule, I do great and rarely have an
accident. I would do best in a home that has only female dogs, because I
love them. I am fine with male dogs when I am out on walks and at the
dog park and boarding; I just do not want to live with them. I really
need a home where I can be loved and live a relaxed life. I don't need
big walks but need someone who will love me with my challenges, be
patient, and make me feel safe. I also need a home with older children
because sometimes the little ones step on me, and that is not
comfortable for me. Everyone who meets me falls in love with me and
tells me how handsome I am, but I just need that special person who is
an experienced dog owner, wants to give me a little extra attention and
patience and keep me on a schedule so I can be the best I can be. I will
give you nothing but love and loyalty in exchange. If you are interested
in being my special person, please call Kelley at 970-379-4606 and go to
www.arf-colorado.com and fill out an application. I will be waiting for
you! |
