Hi! My name is Yoda,
and this is my brother Hercules! We are hoping to get the word out about how
awesome we are. We came to Colorado Pug Rescue because our owners had decided to
put us to sleep! YIKES!!! Luckily, a kind-hearted soul at the shelter contacted
CPR and asked them to help us before it was too late. CPR was literally a life
saver!
We previously lived with a big lab that was getting more and more aggressive
with us. He hurt Hercules when he was young, and it is believed that is what
made him go blind. Hercules has adjusted quite well because he has been blind
almost all of his life. Since I just went blind in the last year or so, most
likely from diabetes, I am slowly getting adjusted to it, too.
Yes, I am diabetic. I need insulin shots twice a day with special food, but I am
super easy to give shots to. I don’t notice at all. I also have to go to the vet
on a regular basis for checks on my blood glucose levels, but please don’t let
that scare you off.
Hercules and I are pretty attached to each other. We want to spend the rest of
our lives together. We are very easy good boys. We never have any potty
accidents in the house. We are crate trained but never need to go in because we
behave so well in the house. We like other dogs, cats, turtles... you name it.
We seem to be great with everything! We even love kids, although they should be
a little older or be very cautious with us since we are blind. We might tend to
get in the way and not realize it. We love to chew on toys and bones. Hercules
needs to work on losing a lot of weight, but our foster parents are helping with
that as well as teaching us leash walking so we can get lots of exercise.
I know we look a little funny with our white eyes, and we may need a little
extra care and expense, but please please consider adopting us. We would make a
great addition to the right family, and that is all we really want. Thanks for
reading about us. We hope to meet you real soon!
