Hi! Look at my picture.
Am I cute or what??? My name is Ancho. That means wide in Spanish, which
I guess I am! I’m a four-year-old porgi (pug/corgi). My foster family
says I’m the happiest pup in the world. Why not be happy we; only have a
few years on this earth, so life’s as good as you make it.
I have had some issues. I was abandoned in the house when my former
family moved, and the neighbor called Colorado Pug Rescue. My nails had
been cut VERY short, and they bled for the first month I was in foster
care. Worst of all, I came to Colorado Pug Rescue with a ruptured
cruciate ligament behind the knee in each of my back legs. I guess
that’s why long walks and climbing seemed a little tough. CPR fixed my
left side in August and plans to do the right in November. Personally,
I’d rather be on vacation, instead. The recovery time is about three
months per leg, and the physical therapy is really tough, but when I’m
healed I’ll be Superman, sorry, super dog.
I’m just a happy-go-lucky guy who’s looking for a forever home where I
can look out for my forever family. I’m good with kids and other dogs
(I’m a follower, not a leader). I probably shouldn’t be in a home with
cats as I just can’t stop myself from chasing those little furry things.
They smell so good!
Since I’ve spent my whole life with these bad back legs, I can be a
little barky because I want to protect my family and am not real strong.
I protect with noise instead of action. My foster family is working with
me to keep my voice controlled. They say that I listen well and am
adaptable.
One of the things I love about my foster family is that they take me and
my foster brother for a 45 minute walk every day! It’s the highlight of
my day; even though we usually stay on the same trails, I get new smells
every day. I’m good in the house alone. I love to sleep but can get
barky if I get too bored. I have a crate and will be good about using
it, but I try hard to prove I don’t need to be confined.
I just need one family that’s right for me, and I will show them
unconditional love for the rest of my life.
