Happy Endings in 2011
2011 was a very busy year for us and we are so appreciative of all the support from our volunteers - we couldn't have done it without you! So far in 2011, Colorado Pug Rescue
- Rescued and rehabilitated 172 pugs and cared for them in loving foster homes
- Successfully adopted out 103 pugs into their Forever Homes
- Expanded our network of Foster homes from 37 to 62
- Attended 31 events to give our Fosters visibility and to raise donations for continuing care.

Where do your Donations go?
Directly to the puggies
- All of our Board Members and
volunteers are just that, non-paid volunteers who donate their time and
effort toward our Mission of rescuing and rehabilitating homeless pugs
and placing them in loving, permanent homes.
100% of all donations go towards veterinary care and prescription diets for our Foster pugs. Our
Foster homes pay for all other food and incidental expenses, and the
Rescue appreciates being able to help them out with some of those costs.
In 2011, your donations paid for: - 34 spay/neuters (many for puppy-mill rescues)
- 64 dental cleanings
- 139 vaccinations
- 15 microchips
- 40 major surgeries including luxating patellas, mass removals, eye and soft palate surgeries

are currently in need of donations to pay for major surgeries
for two recent Rescues - "Ancho" and "Puggles." Please read

Foster Pug of the Month: meet "Gidget"

Gidget came to
Colorado Pug Rescue after the passing of her beloved human, who took
great care of her for 13 years. Miss Gidget is a white/fawn-colored,
slightly overweight, happy little girl. Gidget is taking one glucosamine
tablet daily to help her back legs gain some strength, always a concern
for the older pugs.
Gidget knows how to use a doggie door, but
her back legs make it hard for her to maneuver, so her foster mommy uses
the big door for her. She also does best with a belly band due to
occasional incontinence.
She is a very
laid-back pug who loves to go for walks. She is really happy when you
play toy with her, loves to have her tummy rubbed and just loves to be
close to her humans. Gidget gets along really well with the other six
doggies in her foster home. She has no health issues other than her back
legs, which could improve greatly with the glucosamine.
The
adorable Gidget looks like a baby seal! Are you the right person to
replace her long-time mommy? If you have the desire for a well-adjusted
lovable older girl, then Gidget is the one for you.

Events, Events, and more Events!
We've attended 31 events so far in 2011!
Events
are a great way to give the organization and our Foster pugs visibility
with potential foster and adoptive homes. Here are some of our event
highlights
- 20 Adoption fairs at Petco, Wilmore Nurseries, Safe Place for Pets, PetSmart, Wag n Wash, Woofs n Hoofs, and community adoption fairs.
- 8 Fundraising events
at the Melting Pot Restaurant and at The Dirty Dog Groomers, The
Colorado Avalanche, Dogtopia, Canvas and Cocktails, Yappy Hour and
Oktoberfest Denver Long Dog Derby.
- "Pugs in the Park" - our signature event took place on October 2, 2011 at the City Park boat house and grounds.
Rescue Fair at DU Magness Arena, Dec. 3, 2011
Our
next event will be Saturday, Dec. 3 at the University of Denver Men's
Basketball Game at Magness Arena on the DU Campus. Starting at
4:00, Colorado Pug Rescue will be set up on the South
Concourse, so please stop by to meet our Foster Pugs and spread some
Holiday Cheer!
